You´ll shoot your eye out kid! 12/14/2015

So I just have to begin saying how much I have enjoyed the christmas calendar you guys sent. The Christmas Story calendar. Everyday is full of a laugh and I love it! My roomie, Elder Lorenzoni (brasilian), has also come to love it. He always begs me to open up one of the windows but I always go to hand it to him and open it up right before it reaches his hands! Its the funniest thing ever. He has never seen the movie but is dying to watch it now :) lol. It´s been awesome, so thanks for sending that :)

So this week went by pretty fast and as always it was a stressful one being a Zone Leader the first week of the transfers. 1. Because the assistants called in the transfers wrong and that is something you can´t mess up with palmas transfers because everyone lives in cities here in the state and it takes about 1/2 a day of travelling to get to each area outside the city of Palmas. So we ended up having missionaries that were here in Palmas that got transferred and their bags were still in there areas and it was just a confusion to get it worked out. But luckily with the help of two other zone leaders here in palmas (Elder Schinigoski, my ´´father´´, and Elder Anderson) we all got it worked out together. Yep, Elder Anderson is now here in Palmas as the other companionship of zone leaders! haha. That means I will see him a lot more often. And this next week we are going to spend about three days together because we are going to have our combined zone p-day and then tuesday we are going down to brasilia for our christmas party as a mission (which I am super super excited for) and after we are coming back. So this next week should be super fun.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to confirm Maryana a member of the church and that is always a great experience. It´s always a great experience when you get to perform a priesthood ordinance. A way spiritual experience for everyone involved for sure.

So a little about my companion. His name is Elder Alarcon and he is from Chile. He is 24 years old and is from my group. Or in other words we arrived in the CTM together and the mission field. So I have known him for about 1 year and 4 months. He just became a leader on the mission with me. He has never been a district leader or a zone leader so he has been pretty lost this week and that has been difficult. I have basically been doing everything by myself as I have taught him how to run the show, ha. But its good. He is super humble and easy to get a long with. The other elder that is here is Elder Barker and he is from Arizona, I like him a lot as well so its been a good change.

This week we were able to mark 4-5 baptismal dates for the upcoming weeks. Marking dates here is super easy, but getting people to read the book of mormon, pray, and go to church is what is difficult. People are too lazy to get up to go to church and that is super frustrating at times, but we deal with it. Tamiris wasn´t baptized this week and her mom just continues to make excuses (that are super ridiculous) as to why she can´t be baptized. So we will probably stop focusing on her this week and start searching for others that have potential. Its always sad to cut investigators, but its something that you gotta do as a missionary.

This next week should be really fun, we have are ward christmas party on friday and we missionaries are going to present a hymn in english, spanish and portugues. ha. It should be interesting to see how it goes. And I have no idea when I will skype all of you guys. We will just have to see this next week. But I am super excited to talk to all of you and see your faces! Nossa, que saudade de vocês! Amo vocês mas que conseguem compreender. Tenham uma ótima semana.

com amor, Elder Patterson
