God´s Plan is Perfect...September 28, 2015

Hello Everyone! Thanks for the emails this week. You all rock my socks.

So the title of this email basically is so true. I have never recognized the plan God has for me in my life, like I have hear on the mission. Honestly everything that happens has happened for a reason. I have already talked about some other experiences on the mission where I have said that God´s plan is perfect, but I´ll say it again, God´s Plan is Perfect!

So just to start out a little bit, this week I went on a trade with our zone leaders. I went to Palmas 2 Tuesday and Wednesday. I went and stayed with Elder Barbosa, my zone leader. So if you have all forgotten, Palmas 2 is an area that I have already been. When I was here in Palmas 8 months ago, I stayed there in Palmas 2 for about 2 weeks in total. But I stayed there with E. Seth if you can remember. But while I was there I was able to work and teach and do everything missionaries do in that area. So the trade this week, we ate lunch at the bishops house, and when I was here I ate lunch there with them. I was able to talk with him and his family once again. They remembered me and it was super awesome to talk to them. We also made some visits to a recent convert. When we went to his house, I told E. Barbosa that I had already been there and sure enough, I had been there 8 months ago! The recent convert was a recent convert of E. Seth that got baptized! It was so awesome. We were able to teach the kid again and we taught his grandma that is now receiving visits from the missionaries. It was awesome to see that he had been baptized.

While walking out of that same house we just happened run into another family that I had met here. The family that we had our Thanksgiving Celebration with while I was here! The family that loves Jarrett Gros...(no idea how to spell his last name...) So we were able to talk to them and catch up on everything that had happened since I left. It just brought tons of joy to my soul to be able to see everything that had happened since I had been there. And it was just a testimony builder to me that God had put me there for those few weeks for a reason.

One more thing that I talked to E. Barbosa about and that we realized, is that him and I wouldn´t be such good of friends if it wasn´t for God´s perfect timing. So remember last year when I was waiting for about 3 weeks in Brasilia? Waiting to open up a new area, Pirenópolis, and it never opened up? I always wondered why that happened to me, why an area that seemed to be perfect didn´t open up. Well, while I was there, I was with E. Barbosa and we became best friends. If it wasn´t for those 3 weeks in Brasilia I wouldn´t have the friends I have. Especially him, he has become a true friend and he helps me a ton.

So one more thing that happened this week that showed me God´s plan is perfect... While I was with Elder Barbosa we had the feeling that we needed to call E. Josephson. So we called the assistants, got permission and called him. Turns out that he was needing our call super badly. He had got done praying to God for help when we called him. He has been having a real hard time in his area with his comp and we called at just the right time. It was amazing and super spiritual.

I could go on and on about things that I have noticed this week that God has done for me in my life. I truly know that God´s plan is perfect, we need but trust in Him and in His son Jesus Christ. When we are in the service of our Heavenly Father, we can know that we are where He wants us to be. Like Proverbs 3:5 says, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thy own understanding. I am definitely learning how to do that. I invite all of you to try and recognize the hand of God in your lives this week and think about how His plan for each of you is perfect.

Gotta go now, I know that I didn´t say much, but I am good. This week was great. We were able to mark 3 baptismal dates and more to come. I love you all and am thankful for the support you all give me. I hope you all have a great conference weekend and learn what God would have you do better in your lives as we all strive to become like our Savior Jesus Christ. I am praying for you all! thanks again for everything. bye bye!

com amor, Elder Patterson
