´´He looks like a pink nightmare!´´ 12/21/2015

Hello. Hello. Hello.

So today will be pretty fast because we have to catch a bus in a little while to Palmas 3. We are going to have our zone p-day today and we are going to exchange presents and some other fun activities. Then later this afternoon the bus is going to pick us up and we are all heading down to brasília! Our mission christmas party is tomorrow so I am super excited.

But this week was another fast week and I am sure this week will be even faster! I can hardly believe christmas is already here. Time goes by so fast. So sadly enough, I won´t be able to skype home this year, I will call the house phone... No, I am just kidding. Sorry dad if you had a little heart attack. hehe. But I will be able to skype for sure, no worries there. I think I will be calling inbetween 4-6 our time here, which will be between 11-1 your time. So just be ready with it open and logged in (email and skype if I need something) and I will give you all a ring ;) haha. But honestly I am sooo excited to be able to see all your faces!!! The skype call between mothers day and christmas is just sooo long. For sure I am excited and hope you all are as well.

This week was fun because we had our ward christmas party, us missionaries sang angels we have heard on high in portuguese, english and spanish. We did it without rehearsing and it was decent. lol :) But the party started late so we the relief society president had to sneak us some of the food so we could eat before we left. So funny, us 4 missionaries eating in one of the rooms while everyone was waiting patiently to be a missionary. Something else that is super funny is that Elder Barker mentioned something I had never realized. He said ´´dude, its awesome to be a missionary, we have curfew and never have to clean up!´´ I was laughing so hard because it is true. We always make up for it though in the set-up.

Something that we did as zone leaders this week was a daily challenge for the zone. Usually the challenges are to find new investigators, mark dates, or invite so many people to be baptized. Yesterday we decided to switch it up a little bit and we gave out a challenge to do 4 contacts usuing the words Snow Man, Santa Claus, and Christmas Tree. It was sooo great and so funny! The conversations we had with people in the road were hilarious and lots of people accepted us back. I think mainly because our smiles were so big. Every time Elder Alarcon or I said one of the words we couldn´t help but smile real big and at times we were laughing. It was good fun. Spreading the ´´true reason for the season´´ is sooo great!

This whole week we talked about Jesus Christ more than ever. Whoever we talked to we invited them to lay aside 5 minutes every day to remember Christ´s birth. Because many people here think christmas is just another family party with lots of so(beer)da. I personally have had a great week and have really come to appreciate more Christ´s birth and everything his birth means to me personally. I am so thankful for this time of year and am glad that I have better learned why we celebrate christmas. I love our savior with all my heart. Even though I may not understand everything about him or his infinite sacrifice, I know he loves each and everyone of us. He knows us by name. He is always there with open arms when we need him. I can´t even comprehend his profound love but I know that I am forever thankful for it. I love each and every one of you. I can´t wait to see you all this week and wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

com amor, Elder Patterson
